The ARTIST: What Lies Within "There may not be a reason behind every noise or laughter but there is always a reason behind every Silence..."
Deepak Bhardwaj is a filmmaker, writer, and director driven by an enduring fascination with stories that quietly exist around us—stories that breathe in society but often go unnoticed.
His desire to make films began in his school days, long before he understood the grammar of cinema. That instinct found direction in 2016, when he attended the Theatre Appreciation Course at the National School of Drama (NSD)—a turning point that didn’t teach him what to say, but gave him the push to finally start saying it.
Later that year, in November 2016, Deepak picked up the camera for his first film. The result was The Artist, completed and released in April 2017—marking the beginning of a journey that has now spanned nearly a decade.
Deepak does not see cinema as a vehicle for delivering messages or moral instructions. For him, films are about observing, capturing, and presenting reality as it is—raw, layered, and alive. His work is rooted in lived experiences, human contradictions, and social truths that don’t need explanation, only honest portrayal.
He believes cinema is one of the strongest forces for shaping narratives—not by telling people what to think, but by allowing them to feel, question, and reflect. Whether through fiction or realism, his passion lies in creating stories that mirror society and stay with the audience long after the screen fades to black.
"For Deepak Bhardwaj, filmmaking is not just a profession—it is a way of engaging with life itself."
"Working with Deepak was a masterclass in patience and vision. He sees things others miss."
"A director who truly understands the heartbeat of a story. Every frame has a pulse."
"The way he handles complex emotions on screen is nothing short of poetic."
"An artist who refuses to compromise on authenticity. It was an honor to collaborate."
