Few stories resound as deeply as the forgotten cries of the Himalayas. A tale of migration and lost roots.
Deepak Bhardwaj is a filmmaker, writer, and director driven by an enduring fascination with stories that quietly exist around us—stories that breathe in society but often go unnoticed.
His instinct found direction in 2016 when he attended the Theatre Appreciation Course at the National School of Drama (NSD)—a turning point that didn't teach him what to say, but gave him the push to finally start saying it.
In November 2016, Deepak picked up the camera for his first film. The result was The Artist, released in April 2017—marking the beginning of a journey that has now spanned nearly a decade.
He believes cinema is one of the strongest forces for shaping narratives—not by telling people what to think, but by allowing them to feel, question, and reflect.
"Filmmaking is not just a profession—
it is a way of engaging with life itself."
